Security tint is applied to homes, buildings, and vehicles. It is capable of preventing the glass it adheres to from shattering into shards of glass. It is a thicker, heavier plastic than regular film. The more robust films are able to prevent fragmentation, turning the glass into pebbles. Each security tint must reach certain criteria. These are the ANSI Z.97, CPSC 16 CFR 1201 and CAT 2. This is due to the extreme conditions the sheets can withstand and are tested for. This film is utilized to protect the inhabitants behind the glass. The film protects from solar, heat and other natural dangers.

The most important feature of this type of window tint film is its thickness. This is how the security tint can absorb the higher impacts. The film keeps the glass from exploding into razor sharp pieces. If the glass does break, it will shatter into pieces of dull glass, rather than shards. This protects the occupants from danger, as well as anyone who passes through later. The tint in the plastic also makes it a solar film, by providing protection from UV rays for the inhabitants of the household. This is also due to its thickness, as it adheres to the glass. Some of these products can withstand bullets, as well as hurricanes. This film is made from heavy gauge plastic or polyester to allow it to better withstand high impact.

In comparison, regular film can be simply a light-reducing or decorative film. This is because the usual film is less thick, but darker. This blocks ultra violet beams and solar heat from entering the vehicle or household. It protects the furniture from solar damage and fading, while shielding inhabitants from skin diseases caused by solar rays. They must meet certain standards, as well, but they are not for high impact resistance. They do, however, have a natural durability and offer stability to the windows.

Due to its material’s natural features, security tint is also considered to be protective film. This film rejects and absorbs heavy collisions for the windows of cars and houses. The film is tested to withstand forces that are as strong as hurricanes and wrecks, though some are strong enough to reject bullets. It is a thicker film, because it necessary to combat any types of impingement that may occur from various events. These can be caused by branches, hurricanes, hail and other natural occurrences. The glass can be installed manually, with a roll on film or a professional installer.

Security tint is a type of thick, sturdy plastic that clings to the glass to provide protection. This protection is granted in multiple ways, as it can provide for many different types of safety. For instance, the film is resistant to harsh forces.  The businesses that create these products strive to meet and exceed all the requirements to ensure complete satisfaction will be given to the customer. The most important feature to consider is the thickness of the film, as well as how shaded the residents’ want their windows.
