Few products offer the security and protection provided by solar tint. Whether for a business, the home, or an automobile, this amazingly unique film provides numerous advantages over other types of similar window film. This type of film provides the opportunity for the household, driver, or employees and customers to benefit from the amazing features without ever having to think about the goodness of the application.
There are a number of popular choices in manufacturer and style when it comes to heat rejection film. However, all those films are designed about the same. Utilizing a combination of layers, heat rejection film is designed with a special layer in the creation process that is either a metalized layer or a specially dyed layer.
All types of films start with at least three basic layers:
1. An adhesive layer is the first layer providing the medium by which the entire film attaches to the surface. The adhesive is specifically designed to stick without bubbling.
2. The middle layer is generally the “special” layer. In the case of solar tint, the middle layer may be dyed or metalized to produce a layer that resists all the adverse effects emitted by the sun.
3. Finally, the outer layer is usually a hard coat that is scratch resistant.
Of course, there may be more layers depending on other features of the film, but those three layers are the basic minimum. Other types of layers may include a decorative layer or a strength layer. Each layer has a purpose and while the layer may be quite thick for all purposes, the final product has been ultra pressed together to make a film that is about as thin as a sheet of paper.
There are UV blockers that are generally a special chemical compound specialized to the manufacturer when it comes to solar tint. These cyclic imino esters allow for the amazing benefits associated with UV protection, and the best part is that it is part of the household.
Shading – Shading is one feature of just about all window films, whether for the vehicle, home, or office. Shading is displayed on the product showing the percentage of light that makes it through the film. For instance, a 75% window film is going to allow 75% of the radiation from the sun through the surface, while 25% window film is going to allow 25% of the radiation from the sun through the surface. Therefore, the lower the percentage the less visible light that makes it through the window.
Heat – Another important percentage is the amount of heat allowed through the solar tint. As in the shading percentage, the lower the better, because the percentage shown is the amount of heat allowed to get through to the inside of the property.
Solar tint is an amazing addition to any window, whether a portal to the outside or simply protection within the home. There are numerous choices that allow the applier to get better styles and types for the money and need.
